A combination of classic English antiques and practical but beautifully painted storage in cool Scandinavian colours gives away a little of Katherina Saunders’ own heritage: ‘I was born in London, ’ she explains, ‘but my mother was from Norway and I was raised with Norwegian values – in particular, a love of food and a loathing of waste - whilst being surrounded by the artistic design of my aristocratic English family.’ These two strong forces have merged beautifully to create Katherina’s own unique style in the home she shares with her husband, Michael, and their three children, ‘Since having a family of my own I have been determined to pass those Scandinavian ideals on to my own children, ’ she explains, ‘along with a love of art, antiques and well-made contemporary furniture that should last several lifetimes.’
