Appealing Space

Occupying two floors of what was once the impressive refectory of a well-known boys' boarding school Dominic and Roxane have created their dream home. ‘We moved to the country shortly after our son was born to give us more space and to enable him to be educated in the country, ’ says Dominic. Having found a beautiful old rectory the couple soon discovered they enjoyed living in the country but not the time-consuming and costly upkeep of a rambling old house. ‘We started to look for something more manageable and eventually after a fruitless search I remembered seeing this place advertised. I decided to drive over and have a look, as soon as I walked into this huge open-plan space with 6 floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a private terrace I just knew Roxane and I could make it work, ’ recalls Dominic.
