Eco resort in the Western Cape

A three-hour car trip from Cape Town to De Hoop Nature Reserve brings visitors to Morukuru Ocean House, a new eco retreat that lives up to its name. The low-slung modern structure is constructed from stone excavated from the site so that the building fits snugly into the environment. Designer Janine Butter brought in features from the natural surrounds to craft chandeliers from shells and bones while making the villa as comfortable as possible.
