Decorating with Toile de Jouy

Toile de Jouy, the delicate pastoral prints which originated in 18th-century France, continue to flourish. We look at ways to work these beautiful accent fabrics into different colour schemes. The name toile de Jouy was derived from the French word toile, meaning linen or canvas, and Jouy-en-Josas, a small town near Paris, the home of a cotton printing works founded in 1760.
